About Your Host

Grady O’Bryant was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. After attending college at Ithaca College in Upstate New York, Grady joined the Air Force so he could see the world. And that he did.

During his 10 years on active duty, Grady visited Korea, Japan, Guam, England, Germany, Holland, Luxemburg and Greece. He also lived two years in Belgium and a decade in Fairbanks, Alaska, where he started his first tourism-related business, G.O. Shuttle Service. Eventually, he tired of the brutal winters and relocated to Atlanta before finally setting down with his family in Sacramento, California, in 2000.

Today Grady owns and operates Sacramento Wine & Nightlife Tours, Sacramento Day Trippers and Sacramento World Travelers. Grady decided to start his now signature “See New York with a New Yorker” tour when he noticed a local tour operator charging over $3700 per person for a six-day tour of New York City.

Knowing that he could do it better and cheaper if he cut out the middleman, Grady flew out to the city to meet with suppliers and created a similar tour for approximately $2,200 a person. His inaugural tour to NYC was in April 2011.

On a personal note, Grady and his wife, Gina, will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in 2012. He has a son who is an Avionic Engineer at Lockheed, a daughter who is a junior at U.C. Santa Barbara and two daughters (ages 10 & 13) who are still at home.
